Hello, I am Sofia
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Florence, Italy.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
Origins of the Move
Moving to Italy wasn’t in the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and new expectations. Daily chores felt more complex than expected.
The Adaptation Phase
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning through experience. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
What Motivated Me to Create Still Cove Echo
Much online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap—practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site offers:
- Hands-on insights from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever there is a real change
This site isn't:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A paid review platform
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Italy goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I will continue to document what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Florence or anywhere in Italy, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Sofia
